Local Programs

Special Olympics South Carolina provides programs and services to our local communities. Check the availability of programs in your area. Choose your county/region from the area map on the right or the list on the left.

Area Programs are overseen by a group of volunteers and a volunteer Area Director.  The Area Steering Committees and Area Director work to plan local events, fundraisers and Spring Games.  Many of our local area programs are run through schools and are a great way to get involved in Unified Sports™

Local Program offer a variety of sports.  Check your local program’s page for the sports they offer.

ShotputSpring Games are held in the months of March, April and May, depending on the area schedule.  Athletes must be registered with their local area program (completed Athlete Release Form and Medical Form), have completed the minimum of 8-weeks of training to participate in Spring Games.  They then can be eligible to compete a State competition.

Local programs also offer Young Athletes programs, Unified Sports, local fundraisers and volunteer opportunities.
